A reliable reference can therefore identify the writer, outlet, date and encounter. Still, it was not an ophthalmic exam. It supports brown at the broad level, not an exact digital shade, pigment density or diagnosis. The age of the profile does not imply that an adult iris later changed without specific evidence.

Why can brown eyes look black in photographs?
