Read together, the accounts describe a medical and visual history rather than a static celebrity trivia fact.
The sequence also corrects a common search-result problem. Many pages continue to state that Kunis “has” two differently colored eyes without a date or qualification. Her later words indicate that the prominent difference belongs to a before-surgery period. This article preserves the language she used, including the everyday phrase “glass lens,” without translating it into a more exact procedure or device than the public record supports.
How iritis and cataracts fit the public account
Iritis is inflammation involving the iris, and chronic intraocular inflammation can be associated with cataract development. The American Academy of Ophthalmology’s EyeWiki explains that cataracts are a common complication in chronic uveitis and that treatment decisions depend on the disease history and inflammation control. That medical background makes Kunis’s separate references to chronic iritis, cataracts, severe vision loss, and surgery coherent without allowing an outside writer to diagnose her exact condition retrospectively.
Cleveland Clinic also lists swelling from uveitis among possible acquired causes of heterochromia. That is general education, not proof of the exact mechanism behind Kunis’s earlier blue-and-green appearance. The safer conclusion comes from her timeline itself: an eye illness and cataracts preceded surgery, and she reports that the color difference was no longer the same afterward. Why “born with heterochromia” is not supported here
