Is Iris Analyzer Safe? Photos, Privacy and What It Is Not
The photo stays with you. Here is exactly what does and does not leave your device.

Your eye photo stays on your device
On the website, the analysis runs inside your browser. The page loads the analysis engine, and your photo is processed locally by that engine; it is never sent to a photo-upload endpoint. In the Android app, the same engine is loaded over HTTPS into a restricted in-app browser, and the photo is handed to it in memory. In both cases the servers see ordinary technical request data such as an IP address and a user agent when the engine loads — not the eye photo.
That is the whole design: the measurement comes to the photo, the photo does not go to the measurement.
What is stored, and where
On the website, your photo and result are kept in encrypted browser storage so you do not lose them when you move between pages. Clearing your browser data removes that copy. In the Android app, a captured or chosen photo is copied to an app-private temporary cache for the current analysis and removed when it is replaced, when you clear the session, or at the next app start.
If you tap Save in the app, it stores a color-only profile — palette values, labels and rarity context — in the device’s encrypted secure storage. The photo itself is never saved, and the profile can be deleted from the app’s Data & Privacy screen. Iris Analyzer does not hold a copy of these photos or profiles.
What leaves your device if you buy a pack
The free analysis asks for nothing: no account, no email, no upload. If you buy a pack, two things leave your device — the derived color data (color names, HEX codes, percentages and similar metrics) that the pack is built from, and the email address the pack is delivered to. Payment is handled by Stripe on the website or by Google Play in the app; Iris Analyzer never sees your card details.
Sharing an Iris Card is also your choice. Tapping Share hands the system a short color summary and a result link, never the photo.
Not a biometric scanner, not a medical tool
Biometric iris recognition works from the fine texture of the iris — the ridges, crypts and furrows that are unique to each person — and stores a template of that texture to match against later. Iris Analyzer does neither. It extracts color information only, keeps no iris template and has nothing that could recognize or identify you.
It is also not a medical device. It does not diagnose eye conditions, assess your health or give medical advice. If you notice a sudden change in eye color, pain, redness or a change in vision, see an eye-care professional rather than an app.
Your controls
Everything is reversible from your side:
- Clear the current session in the app, or clear browser data on the website, to remove the photo and result
- Delete a saved color profile from Data & Privacy in the app
- Decline to share; nothing is shared unless you tap Share
- Buy nothing and you never give an email address
Stop guessing — measure it
Photo-based color percentages, rarity score, and a shareable Iris Card in 60 seconds. Private: your photo never leaves your device.
Analyze My Eye Color FreeFrequently asked questions
Does Iris Analyzer upload my eye photo?
No. The analysis runs on your device — in your browser on the website, and inside a restricted in-app browser in the Android app. The photo is never sent to a server for analysis or storage.
Does Iris Analyzer store my iris photo?
Not on any server. On the website the photo stays in encrypted browser storage until you clear it. In the app it lives in a temporary private cache that is cleared when replaced, on request, or at the next start. Saving a result stores color values only, never the photo.
Can Iris Analyzer identify me?
No. It is not an iris recognition system. It extracts colors, percentages and a palette, not the texture features that biometric systems use, and it stores no iris template. There is nothing in the result that could match you to a database.
Is Iris Analyzer a medical eye scanner?
No. It is a color and style tool for curiosity. It does not diagnose eye conditions, assess health or replace an eye exam. For any concern about your eyes, see an eye-care professional.
Do I need an account to use it?
No. The free analysis needs no sign-up and no email. An email address is asked for only if you buy a pack, so it can be delivered to you.
